Watch Kirsten Carabin and David Tijerina discuss AI, client advocacy, and the future of legal representation on A Good Lawyer Podcast.

During a recent appearance on A Good Lawyer Podcast, Carabin Law attorneys Kirsten Carabin and David Tijerina discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence in the legal profession and why compassion, preparation, and human connection remain at the heart of every case.

Artificial Intelligence in Law: Why People Still Matter Most

Artificial intelligence is transforming nearly every industry, including the legal profession.

From organizing documents and reviewing records to assisting with legal research, AI is changing how attorneys work behind the scenes. These advancements can improve efficiency and help legal teams manage information more effectively.

But while technology continues to evolve, one thing remains unchanged:

People still need people.

During a recent appearance on A Good Lawyer Podcast, Carabin Law founder Kirsten Carabin and attorney David Tijerina discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence in law and why technology should never replace compassion, preparation, or personal relationships.

Throughout the conversation, one message stood above the rest:

Every Case Matters. Every Client Counts.

For Carabin Law, AI may help attorneys work smarter, but it will never replace listening to a client, understanding their story, or advocating for them when it matters most.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Changing the Legal Profession

Artificial intelligence has quickly become one of the fastest-growing tools in the legal industry.

Today, AI can assist attorneys by:

  • Organizing large volumes of documents
  • Summarizing medical records and case files
  • Assisting with legal research
  • Improving administrative efficiency
  • Reducing time spent on repetitive tasks

When used responsibly, these tools can help legal teams spend more time focusing on strategy, communication, and client service.

However, AI has its limitations.

It cannot comfort someone who has just lost a loved one.

It cannot prepare a nervous client for a deposition.

It cannot build trust with a jury.

And it cannot replace the experience, judgment, and compassion that come from representing real people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

As Kirsten and David shared during the podcast, technology may continue to change the practice of law, but it should never replace the human side of legal representation.

Every Person Has a Story Worth Hearing

During the discussion, Kirsten was asked whether she would rather represent a client with a difficult personality but a strong case or a very likable client with weaker facts.

Her answer wasn’t about choosing one over the other.

Instead, she explained that every person has something meaningful about them, and part of an attorney’s responsibility is helping a jury understand who that person truly is, not just what happened to them.

That philosophy reflects the way Carabin Law approaches every case.

Clients are never viewed as file numbers or insurance claims. They are individuals with families, goals, and lives that deserve respect.

Technology Can Help. Preparation Wins Cases.

Success in a personal injury case often begins long before anyone steps into a courtroom.

David discussed how preparing clients for depositions and hearings is an important part of the legal process. Every client communicates differently, and taking time to prepare helps ensure they feel confident and comfortable sharing their story.

Preparation also allows the legal team to present a case clearly and effectively.

At Carabin Law, every hearing, deposition, and trial receives careful attention.

As David explained during the podcast, the firm doesn’t believe in putting legal work on “autopilot.” Every case deserves thoughtful preparation because every client deserves the strongest possible representation.

AI can help organize information.

Experience and preparation win cases.

The Cases That Never Leave You

Some cases stay with an attorney forever.

Kirsten shared one that changed the course of her career.

Years ago, she represented families involved in a devastating bus crash during the holidays. While helping injured passengers, she witnessed insurance representatives attempting to settle claims immediately with vulnerable victims for only a few hundred dollars. She also met the family of an 11-year-old boy who lost his life in the crash. Finding his handwritten note about wanting to become the first in his family to attend college left a lasting impact on her.

That experience reinforced her commitment to representing injured individuals, not insurance companies.

As she explained, everyone deserves dignity, fairness, and equal treatment under the law.

David also shared the story of a hardworking father whose life changed after what initially appeared to be a routine rear-end collision. Multiple surgeries left him unable to continue working, forcing his wife to become the family’s primary provider. While no legal outcome could erase what happened, securing compensation helped provide stability during an incredibly difficult time.

These stories are reminders that personal injury cases are never “just cases.”

They are about people.

Kindness Is Part of the Job

When asked how she hopes Carabin Law will be remembered years from now, Kirsten didn’t mention record verdicts or courtroom victories.

She simply said she hopes people remember the firm for its kindness.

That philosophy shapes every interaction at Carabin Law.

Whether meeting with clients, preparing for trial, or simply answering a phone call, the firm believes compassion is just as important as legal knowledge.

Artificial Intelligence Can Support Great Lawyers. It Can’t Replace Them.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the legal profession, one thing remains constant at Carabin Law:

Technology should enhance client service, not replace it.

Behind every injury claim is a real person whose life has been changed in an instant.

No algorithm can understand that.

No software can tell a client’s story.

No program can replace compassion.

That’s why Carabin Law combines thoughtful preparation, modern technology, and genuine human connection in every case the firm handles.

Because while the future of law may include AI…

The future of client care will always begin with people.

Every Case Matters. Every Client Counts.

Always Ready to Help

Accidents don’t happen on a schedule.

That’s why Carabin Law is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When someone contacts the firm, they’ll speak with a real member of the Carabin Law team, not an automated phone system. Depending on the time of day, callers may even speak directly with one of the firm’s attorneys.

Protecting clients begins the moment they reach out for help.
